Judges Criteria

For the love of the Chin

"A1" List

For judges who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the support of the Southern Japanese Chin Club

"A3" LIST (Non Breed Specialists)

To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed * To have preferable judged 1 Breed Club Show or 2 breed club supported entry shows * To have judged the breed at a minimum of 8 Open shows or Championship shows without CC's with an adequate geographical spread * To have judged a minimum of 30 classes in this breed * To have judged a minimum of 95 dogs in this breed * To have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant exam on KC regulations and judging procedures * To have attended a seminar given by a KC accredited trainer on confirmation and on confirmation and movement. * To have attended a confirmation and movement 'hands on' assessment conducted by a KC trainer and passed the assessment with the relevant KC code of best practice, and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable * To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable * To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in The KC Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances) * To have stewarded over a minimum of 12 days at shows

"A3" LIST (Breed Specialists)

To have a minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breeTo have preferable judged 1 Breed Club Show or 2 breed club supported entry shows * To have judged the breed at a minimum of 8 Open shows or Championship shows without CC's with an adequate geographical spread * To have judged a minimum of 30 classes in this breed * To have judged a minimum of 95 dogs in this breed * To have awarded CC's in at least one other breed * To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC code of best practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable * To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in The KC Stud Book (save in exceptional circumstances)

"B" LIST (Breed Specialist)

To have 5 years owning and exhibiting this breed * To have judged 10 classes in the breed at Open shows, Championship Shows without CC's * To have judged at least 30 dogs of this breed (hands on) * To have attended a seminar relative to this breed

"B" LIST (Non-Breed Specialists)

To have shown a marked interest in the breed. * To have judged 10 classes in the breed at Open shows, Championship Shows without CC's * To have judged at least 30 dogs of this breed (hands on) * To have attended a seminar relative to this breed

"C" List

For aspiring judges of Japanese Chin who have displayed an interest in the breed and who have preferably judged the breed but as of yet have not met the criteria for any of the above mentioned lists
