Southern Japanese Chin Club Open     Show 02nd June 2023.

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the invite to judge this breed club open show. I was delighted by my entry. I would like to thank the stewards Andrew Stuart and John Steel for keeping the ring running so smoothly throughout the day. I would also like to thank all of the exhibitors for the privilege of judging our beautiful breed and for the great sportsmanship which made for a very enjoyable day.


Class 1. Minor puppy dog (3)

1st. Tongs, Cranvarl The Red King of Jackonas. R/W loverly profile, square and cobby. Attractive head well marked. Good nose placement. Nicely cushioned muzzle. Dark expressive eyes. Moved with elegance around the ring. Confident outgoing youngster. BPD

2nd. Steels, Spindulys Zephyr at Thredgold. B/W well balanced mature youngster. Confident and outgoing. Moved out well fore and aft.

Class 2. Puppy Dog (3)

1st. Cranes, Cranvarl  the Student Prince. B/W mature youngster with an outgoing personality. Square and cobby level topline. Attractive head well marked with dark expressive eyes. Nicely cushioned muzzle. Moved with aplomb for his handler.

2nd. Farmers, Ps I Love You. B/W youngster which presents a lovely profile, square and cobby with level topline. Attractive head. Moved around the ring with elegance. Just not the confidence of 1 on the day.

Class 3. Junior Dog (3.2)

1st. Rooney and Greens,  Jaschin Hold That Thought. Very pleasing head, nicely rounded skull. Dark expressive eyes. Nicely cushioned muzzle. Good nose placement. Square in body shape with excellent topline and standing and on the move. High set tail carried over the back with a beautiful plume. Well textured coat and silky to the touch. Overall Aristocratic and elegant. B/D and Best in Show.

2nd. Farmers, Sangria Rocket Man. Presents a lovely profile. Strong topline. Pleasing head and expression.Nicely rounded skull. Fine boned and elegant.

Class 4. Novice Dog (1)

1st. Schemels, Brentwood Waggappa. Pleasing broad head with a rounded skull. Dark eyes with a pleasing expression. Well cushioned muzzle. Square and cobby with good rib. Well bodied. Moved elegantly around the ring.

Class 5. Post Graduate Dog (2)

1st. Blow and Allens, Sheardream Eric. Square and cobby. Attractive head, dark expressive eyes, good nose placement and nicely cushioned muzzle. Moved well holding his topline. Confident and outgoing.

2nd. Benton Taylors, Sansarc Show Must Go On. Pleasing head and expression. Square in outline. Moved with purpose around the ring.

Class 6. Limit Dog (2)

1st. Schemels, Brentwood Candide. Well rounded skull with broad head. Dark expressive eyes and lovely expression. Nicely cushioned muzzle. Good nose placement. Square and cobby with good rib. Strong level topline which he held on the move. Moved with confidence and elegance around the ring.

2nd. Flynns, Sharlarne Evolution. Attractive broad head with rounded skull. Dark expressive eyes showing white in the corners leading to the most melting expression. Well placed nose. Good cushioning of muzzle. Square and cobby with good rib. Good shoulder placement. Short loin and correct length of leg. Coat was beautifully silky to the touch. Level topline. High set tail carried over the back with a beautiful length of plume. Presented in full blume. Unfortunately, just not co-operating with his handler today and this resulted in his placing today. 

Class 7. Open Dog (2)

1st. Lindsays, CH. Anjuli Trevor ahCEX. Impressive in profile. Square and cobby with good rib. Short loin and good length of leg. High set tail. Classic head qualities. Large dark eyes with desired expression.  Well cushioned muzzle. Good nose placement. Moved out accurately fore and aft. Super confident dog with an outstanding personality, every inch the showman. Well handled. Res B/D and Res Best in Show.

2nd. Farmers, Salvador Dali by Sangria. Square in profile and well balanced with a high set tail. Pleasing head with a rounded skull. Dark expressive eyes showing just enough white in the corners. Firm topline held well on the move. Moved with elegance around the ring.

Class 8. Special Novice R/W Dog/Bitch (1)

1st. Cranes, Cranvarl the Gypsy Princess. Beautiful puppy. Attractive head with desired rounded skull. Good cushioning to muzzle. Well placed nose. Dark eyes and a very pleasing expression. Strong topline. Well laid shoulders, short loin and good length of leg. Moved with elegance around the ring. Presented in loverly coat and condition. BPIS.

Class 9. Special Open T/W Dog or Bitch (1)

1st. Cushings, Ennistars Niagra at Spiritisle. A lot to like about this well balanced bitch. Very pleasing head with dirsered rounded skull. Beautiful, astonished expression. Good nose placement. Good cushioning of muzzle. Square in outline. Strong topline and high set tail carried well over her back, silky coat. Moved with elegance around the ring.

Class 10. Special Open Dog/Bitch (1)

1st. Benton Taylors, Sansarc The Show Must Go On.

Class 11. 

1st. Cranes, Cranvarl the Gypsy Princess.

Class 12. Puppy Bitch (1)

1st. Sansarc Mara. Pleasing head and expression. Shown in loverly condition. Moved well.

Class 13. Junior Bitch (1)

1st. Bradleys, Sharlarna Primadonna. Ultra feminine bitch. Broad head with a nicely rounded skull. Nicely cushioned muzzle and good nose placement. Square and cobby. Short loin and good length of leg. Clean front and angles to rear. Strong level topline and a high set and well plumed tail. Fine boned and elegant. Well textured coat and silky to the touch. Moved out with confidence.

Class 14. Novice Bitch (4.1)

1st. Farmers Moon Dance. Attractive bitch with a loverly profile. Square and cobby. Rounded skull and dark eyes and pleasing expression. Nicely cushioned muzzle and good nose placement. Strong topline which she held on the move. High set tail. Moved around the ring purposely fore and aft.

2nd. Cushings, Spiritisle Family Magic. Another attractive bitch. Square and cobby. Nicely rounded skull with a broad head. Nicely cushioned muzzle. Moved with elegance around the ring. 

Class 15. Post Graduate Bitch (4)

1st. Steels, Threadgold Star Struck. A well constructed bitch. Broad head with a round skull. Good nose placement and well cushioned muzzle. Nice eye size. Good straight front and good width to chest. Well laid shoulders and good angles to rear. Strong level topline and high set tail which she carried well over her back. Moved around the ring with purpose.

2nd. Bradleys, Sharlarna Vivacious. Ultra feminine bitch. Presents a lovely profile. Broad and rounded skull. Good cushioning to muzzle and good nose placement. Square and cobby. High set tail which she carried well over her back. Moved posivitly both coming and going.

Class 16. Limit Bitch (7.2)

1st. Quinns, Sharlarna Eye Candy. A quality eye catching bitch and ultra feminine bitch. Loverly breed type. Most attractive head with the darkest of eyes showing the desired amount of white in the corners giving the most astonished expression. Well placed nose and good cushioning to muzzle. Beautiful in profile square and cobby. Short in loin and good length of leg.  Strong topline. High set tail carried well over her back. Desirable hare feet. Moved around the ring elegantly fore and aft. Shown in tip top condition. Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex.

2nd. Claytons, Sharlarna Temptress. Attractive bitch and ultra feminine. Broad rounded skull, good nose placement and well cushioned muzzle.  Dark eyes displaying a beautiful expression. A well bodied and square in outline. Level topline which she held while on the move. High set tail carried high over her back. Moved accurately fore and aft.

Class 17. Open Bitch (2)

1st. Rooney and Greens, Jaschin Paws for Applause. Attractive bitch, a nicely marked broad head with the desired rounded skull. Nicely cushioned muzzle, and good nose placement. Expressive dark eyes. a short loin and a good length of leg. High set tail carried well over her back. Well balanced with a good topline which she held on the move. loverly outgoing personality.

2nd. Cushings, Ennistar Niagra at Spiritisle. 

Class 18. Veteran Dog/Bitch (3)

1st. Schemles, Chihart Yuunagi.  An 8 year old dog in sparkling form. Attractive head with rounded skull and broad head. Well cushioned muzzle. Compact and square with good ribcage. Short loin and good length to leg. Moved around the ring like a youngster! Lovely outgoing personality. Best veteran.

2nd. Benton Taylors, Sansarc Magnificent Charta.  A 7 year old bitch beautifully shown by her young handler. Presents a lovely profile when standing. Pleasing head and expression.
